ION EXCHANGE SYSTEM
"The Right Way for Recycling
and Zero Discharge"
|
|
THE IX SERIES
|
|
METAL EXTRACTION AND TREATMENT SYSTEM FOR
PROCESS WASTEWATER
|
| The IX Series is today's most cost-effective
and practical approach to metal extraction and treatment system for process
wastewater. Save money now by eliminating sewer charges, and avoid
long-term liability for waste disposal. With the IX Series, benefit
from a short-term payback period and conveniently achieve zero discharge. |

|
A Tested and Proven Sludge-free
Method
|
| The IX Series uses ion-exchange technology,
which has been tested and proven to be an effective and dependable means
to completely eliminate metal sludge from forming. A different ion-specific
resin is used according to the metal to be extracted to provide a more
effective metal recovery and to produce the desired effluent. |
|
|
| The IX Series is a convenient skid-mounted
equipment, which runs through the use of computerized, advanced programmable
controllers. It is simple to operate and easy to maintain.
A "lead-lag" design concept provides uninterrupted service even during
ion-exchange column regeneration. |
Flexibility for Any Operation
|
| The IX Series can be designed to
suit your specific operation and is ideal for use in the PC board manufacturing,
general plating, and rigid-dish industries. Modules are available
for point-source type treatment (where the waste stream is generated).
In this configuration, treatment of each stream can be optimized.
Skid-mounted systems treat all waste streams and provide service flow rates
up to 200 GPM for high throughput. For flow rates exceeding 200GPM,
we customize the design of the treatment system according to the specific
operational need. |

-
After pH adjustment and filtration, the wastewater
stream flows to two ion-exchange columns in series, where metal removal
takes place. This ensures effluent water to meet the most stringent
limits. From the IX Series, treated water following pH adjustment
can be directed to the sewer, or can be easily reclaimed.
-
Working in conjunction with a microprocessor, a metal
analyzer continuously monitors the metal concentrations in the treated
water. When the preset limit is reached, the primary column undergoes
the regeneration process, and the secondary column assumes the role of
the primary column. After regeneration, the primary column takes
over the function of the secondary column until the next regeneration cycle.
-
Column resins are regenerated by specific regenerant
solutions according to the metal being removed. The dissolved metal
ions in the regenerant solution are removed. The dissolved metal
ions in the regenerant solution are removed in an electrorecovery cell.
The cell's mesh-type cathode provides a large surface area which results
in an extremely efficient metal removal. Recovered metal can be sold
as scrap to recyclers.
