| LEE is currently providing groundwater
monitoring services for SAMTRANS as part of a facilities modifications and improvement
program for their Maintenance and Operations Facilities. During the initial phase of the contract, LEE conducted a site investigation
to determine the extent of soil and groundwater contamination caused by leaks from
underground fuel lines. A quarterly groundwater monitoring program was instituted
and the design of a groundwater remediation system was undertaken. LEE met with the
San Mateo County Department of Environmental Health (SMCDEH) during the initial phase of
design to determine cleanup goals.
The SMCDEH agreed to a soil cleanup goal higher than the
default soil cleanup goal on the condition that SAMTRANS monitor the perimeter of the
facilities to ensure that hydrocarbons will not migrate off site.
LEE designed a groundwater pump and treatment system to
capture the containment plume. LEE continues to monitor groundwater quality
quarterly while providing design services during construction. LEE is also providing
construction management services for these facilities.
As construction manager,LEE ensures that the contractor
complies with the terms and conditions of the contract. Items such as schedule
review, implementation of activities, interfaces with regulatory agencies, permitting,
laboratory sampling, analytical analysis reports, progress payments, change orders,
inspection, field engineering, quality control, quarterly well monitoring and contract
administration are but a few of the services provided by this team. |
